Working freelance-- and for the most part, off the books (the phrase 'under the table sounds kind of slutty...)-- was what screwed me up in the first place. No proof of taxable income- no deductions. I don't even want to think about how much money I paid out of pocket and won't see any kind of refund for; it's enough to bring on a panic attack. I can't even afford those right now! I know; headsets make me nuts. (Not that it takes much...). But I keep thinking that someday soon, there'll be a report that they give you some kind of bizarre cancer.
